Question by oceɑηɑ ♡☼☽: why would someone prefer a film camera over a digital camera?
i was with my friend the other day. her uncle is a photographer so she knows a lot about cameras and has a bunch of his old ones, and she was like “i love old film cameras” so what im wondering is why would someone prefer an old film camera? aren’t they more complicated? she owns a new digital camera too, so why would someone prefer to go through the trouble and process the film and everything…

Best answer:

Answer by fhotoace
Actually film cameras are LESS complicated.

You have only a few options.

Shutter speed
Lens aperture
Light meter readings
Lens selection
Film selection.

That is it.

Digital cameras have many more options and thus can be more complicated.

What do you think? Answer below!

The Yale School of Engineering & Applied Science presents the 2011 Victor M. Tyler Distinguished Lectureship in Engineering with Eric Fossum, Professor of Engineering in Dartmouth’s Thayer School and a consultant to Samsung Electronics’ Semiconductor R&D Center. Dr. Fossum, who earned a PhD in electrical engineering from Yale in 1984, is one of the world’s leading solid-state image sensor device physicists, best known for inventing the CMOS image sensor. His “camera-on-a-chip” technology is used in nearly all camera phones and webcams, digital-still cameras, high-speed motion capture cameras, automotive cameras, dental x-ray cameras, and swallowable pill cameras. An entrepreneur as well as inventor, Fossum’s transfer of his own IP portfolio to industry has yielded one of Caltech’s greatest licensing revenue streams, and he has served as CEO of two successful high-tech companies. His work was included on Reuters’ list of “Baby Boomer Inventions that Changed the World,” and Forbes calls him an inventor who has “changed your life.”

Question by Troy D: Digital camera shows low battery with new batteries?
I have a Kodak DX6440 digital camera. I just put new batteries that were fully charged in it and it shows low battery. I know the batteries are ok because they just came off the charger, I tried 2 others just to make sure it wasn’t defective batteries but it’s still doing it. The batteries are the hight volt ones especially made for digital cameras. Please serious answers, no “there is something wrong with your camera” since that’s obvious. Only answer if you know what it might be….

Question by thiickumz: optical viewfinder on the Camera?

it the “Kodak Easyshare Z1275 12 Megapixels Digital Camera ”

does it need it??

im buying it of craigslist

for 90 bucks is that a good deal or no??

Best answer:

Answer by Charles R
Most point and shoot cameras have no optical view finder. You will use the LCD screen to view the subject that you are photographying. For one thing, I would like to caution you on buying a second hand camera from bidding sites. If you really want to buy a used camera check with a reputable camera store that sells them. They check them out before they buy them. Actually, you may be better off saving up an additional 75 or 100 bucks and buy a new camera that would come with a 1 year warranty. Good luck.
